"I have hosted Christmas Eve dinner the last couple of years and I love to create a special table. Last year I used deshilado placemats from Aguascalientes and my mom’s old Gorky Gonzalez plates. My mom also lent me my grandmother’s crystal to decorate the table. The last few years I have made a gluten free carrot cake for dessert. I also love to serve Ponche Navideño when I host holiday parties."

"My specialty drink to make during the holidays is a Hot Toddy. I went to Ole Miss so hearing the words Hotty Toddy throughout my adult life made it a necessary requirement to learn how to make one of these and it turned out to be my favorite cocktail during the holidays and cooler months. Below is the recipe I use:"

Hot Toddy Recipe:

¾ cup hot Apple Cider

1 ½ ounces Whiskey

2 to 3 teaspoons Toney, to taste

2 to 3 teaspoons Lemon juice, to taste

1 Lemon round

1 Cinnamon stick (optional, for garnish)

We make it every holiday season because it is a pie that is so delicious to add to your dessert table! The only issue with this pie is that you probably should make more than one because the slices usually disappear quickly! Enjoy!"
